The Singer May Change, but the Beat Stays Strong
Leslie Lundin & Jim Hunton | Published on 2/1/2026
Anyone who knows me knows two things to be true: I like my music loud, I like my bass unapologetically heavy, and subtlety has never been my strongest setting. Which makes this a very good moment to introduce someone who balances all of that out beautifully.
We’re thrilled to welcome Jim Hunton as the Interim President of the Audiophile Foundation.
Jim has been instrumental in shaping and elevating our DIY events — the thoughtful, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves kind of work that turns curiosity into knowledge and ideas into solder smoke. He brings a deep respect for the craft, a methodical mind, and a seriousness of purpose that keeps us grounded… all delivered with a dry wit that tends to land just after you realize he was joking.
As Interim President, Jim will focus on continuity, stability, and forward momentum — making sure the signal stays clean while I continue to push the low end a little harder than necessary. He understands that this Foundation isn’t just about gear or specs, but about learning, sharing, preserving audio heritage, and occasionally debating things that absolutely do not need to be debated at this length.
Leadership transitions don’t require turning the volume down — sometimes they just require someone who knows exactly when to adjust the gain.
Please join me in welcoming Jim. I’m grateful for his willingness to step into this role, confident in his leadership, and comforted knowing that when things get a little too loud, there’s someone at the helm with a steady hand, excellent judgment, and just enough dry humor to keep us honest.
Keep the music loud!
Leslie
President (Ret.)
A Message from the President
I am both honored and a bit humbled to step into the role of interim president of our club. As you know, Leslie set a remarkable standard of leadership and vision for us, and I’m truly grateful for the strong foundation she’s built. Her dedication, steady leadership, and genuine passion for the club made a real and lasting impact.
Since joining our club, I’ve found a welcoming community of music lovers who share my passion for great sound. The Friday Happy Hour ZOOM call really helped me get through the isolation of the COVID pandemic and was my introduction to iconic club members such as Gregory Morgan, Ori Mizrahi-Shalom, and Jim Bird.
My goal is to continue the great momentum Leslie started while also finding new ways to engage with all of you and grow our membership. I believe that each of you brings something special to our community, and I’m excited to hear your ideas and suggestions. I’m here mainly to listen, support, and help things run smoothly. If you have ideas, thoughts, or just want to chat about gear or music, I’m always happy to hear from you.
Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you at an AF event soon!
Warm regards,
Jim Hunton
President (Interim)
