Jeff Beck Live

Jeff Beck performing this week... Live at Ronnie Scott's. 2008 Deuce music/ Eagle Rock Entertainment DVD
I happened to watch this for maybe the seventh time a week before Jeff's recent untimely passing. It was great as ever. Even Jimmy Page once said " When Beckie's on, he's probably the best there is". No doubt. Playing electric guitar mostly with his fingers, gives an unusual touch and tone. Others do, Mark Knofler and Lindsey Buckingham come to mind, and they're great, but Jeff's in his own world.
This DVD filmed at Ronnie Scott's in Soho area of London has Jeff with an excellent backing band. Talk Wikenfeld in bass, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, and Jason Rebello in keys. There's also guest appearances by Joss Stone, Imogen Heap and Eric Clapton.
Video and sound quality is excellent , as well as the performance. The only tune I was a little disappointed in was my favorite," Cause We've Ended As Lovers". Talk does a bass solo in the middle, which is nice, but I would have preferred Jeff's epic, building solo all the way through. That aside, it is a fantastic, intimate performance by all involved, but especially the legend that is Jeff Beck. Be sure to get it, one of the best concert videos I've seen.
