Roy Hargrove and Mulgrew Miller, In Harmony, double vinyl album by Resonance Records, HLP-9060, limited pressing. What a great album that I, more or less, stumbled upon. Recorded live in 2006 and 2007, mastered by Bernie Grundman with only Hargrove on trumpet and Miller on piano, this is an album that perks up your ears and draws you into the music. Hargrove’s trumpet is clear without being strident. Miller’s piano is a bit recessed in this live recording, but still very accessible. Highly recommended.
